con Sigma 1.4x EX DG, 1/1250 f/9.0, ISO 1600, tripod.

Immagine a tutto formato ovviamente No Crop.....

Very nice but to me, looking at the full resolution version, the beak and the eye appear out of focus.

Hello Luigi
.... looking at the full resolution version, the beak and the eye appear out of focus.

They do not seem ..... I am ..!

Note:
With the FF a lot and I had to get close to these distances are quite small (now the subject entering the lens) the image has a narrow pdc

..... I had already put in a comment to the picture that the image has a very narrow PDC has these distances (just over 4.5 meters) and the multiplier with the possibility to focus on the whole are really minimal unless at least close to F11/13 ...... ;-)
You also have to take into account the size of the file that I posted as is, with no crop and no reduction is completely full frame ....
Just look at the same photo posted immediately to 2400px and defects already seen much less .... ;-)
1200px instead ..... --- is perfect!!
That's why (as the good magician Mulinai) files 1200px should be taken with the tongs and for what they are, this resolution seems to be "all good" ...... trouble (as in this case) can be seen only with better resolution and consistent and correct.
Thanks anyway to you Louis and everyone else for the visits and comments always welcome
Hello and good raga WE ....!
Roby

A beautiful image. The photo is great if you do not open it to the entire resolution.
Your speech on the lack of depth of field at these distances by not acting gets a turn.
I check on a daily basis with the 1DX 400 and 2.8, with or without the multipliers, where there is still
less depth of field, or rather, the frying pan (400 and 600) off even more dramatically
what is in perfect focus from that it is just a bit less.
In my opinion here was also due to the noise (?), A remnant of ac and yield suboptimal
multiplier which loses sharpness off-center. All this according to me, of course.
Greetings
marcello (friend of Maurice L.)

@ Marcello:
all ctitiche and advice like yours, are always welcome and only ...!! :-)
It Marcellus, maybe I would have gotten a lot without tisultato certainly better also, of course, the file was elborato and passed under the noise reduction ... ;-)
Thank you so much for your words to be taken into serious consideration ...!
I also hope that with the 1.4x series III many things can only get better (.... given the cost ..!)

Hello Roberto, thanks to you.
you can be sure that the 1 .4 x series III is much higher, but also the 2x III has made more uniform because ..
wasting the quality of the file 1DX/500 F4L with a multiplier up. Certainly not cheap.
