, 1/400 f/7.1, ISO 100, hand held. Etosha National Park, Namibia. Specie: Loxodonta africana

Talvolta gli elefanti (in assoluto i miei animali africani preferiti) mi sembrano creature appartenenti ad un'altra, lontanissima, era.

Very nice this cut Cristina, makes an interesting and original portrait rather inflated and therefore big congratulations on your purchase ...... :-)
Just a shame that the gentleman is slightly turned and the eye is a thread too .... elusive. For post would see better more 'contrasts, shadows with more' closed to accentuate the grooves and forms of skin :-)

Alexander, as usual, thank you very much for the detailed comment :-)
In order: I searched my shots and I have not found one with the worse eye "elusive" :-(
Before loading this picture I tried to process it with the curves for different effects of contrast, but I always ended too dark to make the part of the mouth and lose too many details as you know :-( I have to improve pp. ;-)
PS: how do you see the advice of the gurus are still needed ;-) :-)

In agreement with Alexander. The harsh light has not helped you personally unless special circumstances in this light by shooting several years and if I have to try to convert the shot in BW working mainly boobies highlights very difficult to treat. Your photo in addition to the low contrast (the BW contrast without fear) suffers in the high lights burned on the tusk. Ultimately, you know I'm honest in my assessments, the picture is wrong, even the framing is not optimal with the head turned too. Bacchettatona:-D
