Ilario comprendo il tuo stupore. Un posto del genere difficilmente lo scopri se non ti ci porta qualcuno, soprattutto se sei di Genova come me.
Ho avuto la fortuna di andarci in ottobre (direi il 19) con un amico fotografo naturalista che tiene dei workshop in zona ( Gabriele Bano, magari lo conosci).
E' un luogo magico, sono stato anche alla sorgente dell'Arzino e nella parte finale dove forma delle marmitte spettacolari.
Avevo anche la versione orizzontale della foto (pressoche' identica alla tua) ma non avendo usato il polarizzatore aveva qualche riflesso. Cosi' ho postato questa. Grazie del passaggio.

Hilary understand your astonishment. A place like this would hardly find out if someone takes you there, especially if you're like me Genoa.
I was lucky enough to go there in October (say 19) with a naturalist photographer friend who holds workshops in the area (Gabriele Bano, maybe you know it).
It 'a magical place, I was also at the source and at the end where dell'Arzino form of catalytic spectacular.
I also had the horizontal version of the photo (almost 'identical to yours) but not having used the polarizer had some reflection. So 'I posted this. Thanks for the ride. Grazie Raffaele per tuo commento.

Infatti avendo visto che sei di Genova, non mi spiegavo questo scatto! Il punto di ripresa è identico ed anche il periodo: tu il 19 ed io il 20 ottobre!

In fact, having seen that six in Genoa, I could not understand this shot! The resume point is the same and also the period: you and I on 19 October 20!
Gabriele Bano not know him personally but his shots so also because it is part dell'AFNI.
