the pose is nice, but, with my monitor, known spots and shadows that disturb a lot.

Thank you, Manuel, Massimo, Maura I'd love to see where known spots and dark shadows to figure out what and where I went wrong in PP, are self-taught in the use of PS and certainly many limiti.Ho I used the adjustment brush in Camera Raw to darken the background (again already very dark in the original file) and still the adjustment brush to accentuate the details and brightness on Martin.
Again it seems to me an acceptable result but I'm glad to receive some criticism and suggestions that can help me to improve, on the other hand I think this is the purpose of the forum, thanks to whom I will dedicate a few minutes for it. :-)

I really like the photo .. I find it very beautiful and the black background! also because it is an unusual thing for the photos to the birds.
Congratulations!
the "black" you can try to improve it around the kingfisher, especially around and in front of the beak .. are recommendations only as a layman, I repeat, I like it a lot already!

great capture, you can see brush strokes between branch and then head on back down to the tail, perhaps not seeing it may depend on the risulozione of the screen, I can assure you from personal experience that the same image seen on three different notebooks I had the certainty of seeing three images are not identical in quality
