Campionato Mondiale su terra di Sleddog - www.lauromagrisphotonature.com - Priorità diaframma, Val.dev.esp.0 - SledDog Sport : categoria Kart - #SledDog - Definizione di "Sledog Sport" : sono le corse con i cani nordici da slitta come i Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Samoiedo e Groenlandese ma anche i Deutsch Kurzhaar . Il conduttore (qui ripreso in una particolare posa) viene indicato come "Musher" ed è parte integrante del Team. Le gare su terra sono attività nate all'inizio per allenarsi alle gare su neve ma che sono ora equiparate come pratica, importanza e diffusione a quelle su neve , si svolgono utilizzando al posto della slitta dei mezzi forniti di ruote. Le categorie sono: Dog-cross (padrone/conduttore e cane legati tramite imbragatura-1 o 2 cani) , Bike-Joring (padrone su MTB o monopattino trainato/aiutato dal proprio cane) e Kart (Musher su "Biga" trainato da 4-6 cani). Il concorrente è posizionato in piedi sul proprio mezzo (una specie di triciclo a 3 o 4 ruote a seconda del numero di cani), ed aiuta i cani nelle salite spingendo con un piede o correndo dietro al kart.. - Le origini dello sleddog, risalgono ai popoli artici: Esquimesi ed Indiani Athabaska avevano come unico mezzo di trasporto slitte trainate da cani. Successivamente anche i corrieri postali ricorrevano (e ricorrono) alle slitte trainate da cani per spostarsi da una parte all'altra del Grande Nord. Curiosità: Nel 1973, l'esploratore americano Joe Redington organizzò la prima gara su neve storica "Iditarod". La mitica gara, 1800 km, da Anchorage a Nome, ricorda l'impresa di un gruppo di corrieri su slitte che nel 1925 riuscì a portare il vaccino in tempo a Nome, altrimenti sterminata dalla difterite. A Balto, uno dei cani leader che hanno partecipato all'ultimo tragitto della spedizione, è stata eretta addirittura una statua al Central Park di New York (il cane che condusse il team per la maggior parte del lungo tragitto si chiamava invece Togo) . Nel 1988 nasce in Europa l'Alpirod, gara europea che si correva sulle Alpi Francesi, Italiane, Svizzere ed Austriache. #SleddogSport
