, 1/640 f/2.8, ISO 200, hand held.

I think here you can see the difficulty of using a focal depth of field so limited: the focus falls on the tip of the nose and beard and hair highlighting a lack of sharpness on the eyes than their own, as far as I'm concerned, they are almost always the most important point and we are going to try looking at a portrait .....

I will keep account of the advice thank you! At a distance of about one meter in your opening that I would have to take on aps-c to get a proper PDC?

I ask a bit 'too .. are not very technical savvy and frankly I risk saying a nonsense ...: fconfuso:
Or you can just hit the fire, and portraits on the street is not always easy, or better to shoot at least 3.2 or better in 4 ... For another thing, when I'm holding the 70/200 2.8 I often forget to do ... wow!

I put it in the drawer as a recommendation for the next picture with the focus on the eyes:-D
Perhaps it is therefore preferable to use a center for this type of pictures ..
I also read, and did not know who repeatedly press the focus - which I usually do - can affect in a negative way if you use diaphragms very open because the AF motor moves the lens slightly minimally impairing the sharpness.

ciao Giani

The picture has the undeniable failure of the fire but otherwise pleasant, one-meter f 5/6-8per then open up more and more as you walk away, and take care resign to focus on the eyes.
hello Giani

Farò qualche prova come mi hai indicato! :-)

Giani Hello thanks for the comment and for the advice. In fact I tried to learn from the photos posted by users, and it seemed to me that they were taken in aperture wide open without any defect ... maybe they were crop. I'll do some testing as you have shown me! :-)

ciao Edo,
Sorriso

hello Edo
2.8 is fine as for opening fire in the eyes, the nose and cheeks, etc., then it depends on exactly "what do you want to fire." if you want the whole face background etc. you have to use higher f. The problem is the fact that it did not hit the eye. With your 450, keep the central point (the others are weaker), press the shutter release button (so bloccar) and reassemble the picture.
:-)
