Descrizione: in Europa occidentale, questa specie è limitato alle montagne più alte.
Plebejus eumedon preferisce radure fiorite vicino a cespugli e alberi, boschi, spazi verdi dove i fiori sono abbondanti e di campi di fieno, su terreno sia asciutto sia bagnato. Si trova spesso su pendii esposti a sud in foreste di betulle, preferibilmente lungo i bordi della foresta ad altitudini di circa 1300 m. Fino a qualche tempo fa era denominata come Eumedonia eumedon.
Maschio: colore bruno scuro uniforme con tratto discocellulare nero, poco evidente, nelle ali anteriori.
Femmina: colore bruno scuro uniforme con tratto discocellulare nero, poco evidente, nelle ali anteriori. Alcune aree lunulari submarginali arancio talvolta presenti nelle ali posteriori.
Rovescio: colore bruno chiaro, talvolta grigiastro, con punti neri di dimensioni variabili contornati di bianco. Sfumatura basale verde azzurra. Aree lunulari submarginali arancio nelle ali posteriori ove, tra la terza e la seconda nervatura mediana, è quasi sempre presente una caratteristica stria longitudinale bianca.
Distribuzione: tutta Italia ad esclusione della Sardegna e isola d'Elba.
Habitat: prati e radure dal piano basale a quello montano e cacuminale, da 250 sino a circa 2500 metri s.l.m.
Generazioni annuali: una sola con sfarfallamento da maggio a luglio a seconda della quota e della latitudine.
