Io ho vinto la lotteria 4 mesi prima (sono andato il 23 agosto ed ho partecipato alla lotteria ad aprile con estrazione il primo di maggio), in alternativa c´è la lotteria del giorno prima che si tiene a Kanab.
Il percorso di per se non è difficile, ma le alte temperature estive e l´orientamento possono renderlo; per cui meglio iniziare il trail all´alba e studiarlo preventivamente (comunque tutto il materiale per l´orientamento viene anche fornito dal BLM), con queste precauzioni non vi sono problemi secondo me (occhio anche al meteo, se vi sono piogge torrenziali i giorni precedenti puó essere necessario passare in auto da sud come è successo a me).

Anche se ho un bel ricordo di Kanab, grazie alle ottime quesadillas servite in un ristorantino messicano, credo che l'opzione praticabile sia quella della lotteria online, per non dover stare fermi piu' giorni la', e ritentare la fortuna.
Ho trovato le copie del materiale fornito dai ranger, direi che le istruzioni sono quasi "fool proof", molto americane, in quanto a pignoleria; del resto è meglio andarci cauti quando ci sono turisti da soli in giro per il deserto...
Per quanto mi riguarda, ho già provveduto a salvare vari punti del percorso sul navigatore, meglio fare le coseper tempo.
