Quando vedo le foto dei trampolieri con una sola sola gamba mi viene in mente la novella di Boccaccio ''Chibibbo e la Gru''
Currado Gianfigliazzi, trovando una gru uccisa, la manda al cuoco Chichibio, il quale la cucina. Il profumo della gru invita la donna Brunetta a chiedere al cuoco una coscia e Chichibio, essendo innamorato della donna, gliela offre .
Quando il cuoco serve la gru a Gianfigliazzi, il padrone si accorge della mancanza di una coscia e chiede a Chichibio una spiegazione.
Il cuoco gli risponde che le gru hanno solo una zampa e il padrone un po' adirato chiede di dargliene dimostrazione.
La mattina seguente Chichibio porta il padrone al fiume e gli mostra alcune gru su una zampa sola e Gianfigliazzi provoca un forte rumore obbligando le gru a poggiare anche l'altra zampa a terra.
Allora Chichibio risponde che le gru hanno due zampe, ma che egli non aveva gridato e fatto rumore la sera prima.
Questa risposta suscita una risata nel padrone che, apprezzandone l'arguzia, non lo castiga.

When I see the pictures of wading birds with one one leg comes to mind the story of Boccaccio Chibibbo'' and'' Crane
Conrad Gianfigliazzi, finding a crane killed, sends it to cook Chichibio, which the kitchen. The scent of the crane invites the woman to ask the chef Brunetta a thigh and Chichibio, being in love with the woman offers it.
When the cook serves crane Gianfigliazzi, the owner becomes aware of the lack of a thigh and asks Chichibio explanation.
The cook replied that the cranes have only one leg and the owner a little 'angry asks you to give him proof.
The next morning the master Chichibio door to the river and shows him some cranes on one leg and Gianfigliazzi causes a loud noise forcing the cranes to rest the other one paw on the ground.
Then Chichibio responds that the cranes have legs, but that he had not shouted and made noise the night before.
