I really like the slim cut serene expression of the subject and selective focus, congratulations. Mi piace molto il taglio stretto, l'espressione serena del soggetto e la messa a fuoco selettiva, complimenti. |

A portrait of John great strength, excellently crafted and expertly framed. Personally I love the warm colors that pervades the photo and the strength of that look. Congratulations, another portrait of great value.
Ciao Sergio |

According to a book I have about Vietnam ethnic minorities, this people are called Dao Dau Bang. The Black Dao women do not have That strange headdress (I bought one!) Made with false hair but a black head scarve (like the one you shot in Sin Ho). According to a book I have about Vietnam ethnic minorities, this people are called Dao Dau Bang. Hi brother, thanks for the comment on the ethnicity. I can only be guided by the guides and usually they are more interested in getting to the next town and having a coffee than trying to take you to the non tourist places. We met some similar ladies mixed with H'mong on a road side market near Na Ban in Lai Chau and I saw them again last trip on the way to Tam Duong. I cannot find that sub group in my book of 54 ethnic groups but I will pursue the name. It is often hard to get the ethnic group when taking lots of photos in a market so you rely on the guides a bit. One of the other ladies had one with the funny thing on top. But anyway, great to meet someone who has been to Sin Ho, Lai Chau. I want to do it again but I need to find a guide who knows the area and not just says he does!!! Cheers brother, send me a private message...John. |
