Gianmarco Hello! :-) Being your first macro shot (or almost macro because, to tell the truth, this photo is a close-up) I would say that is a good start. ;-) I would say that the composition is nice, the rest a few tips but keep in mind that even come from a beginner! Attention to better treat the MAF or tries to focuse in a manner appropriate to emphasize that you give to the subject, in this case, IMHO, it would have been appropriate for the shell of the snail was in focus so as to bring the so crisp its luster. Another tip: in this shot I find it a bit 'too much aperture as in this type of photos should be closed .... also a lot (kind of F / 8 up to F/16). This of course increases the shutter speed that they become a bit 'long. In this regard, here is another tip: use the tripod! I, too, sometimes handheld shooting but exceptions are related to the condition in which I am taking while, in your case, the shot you see that is studied and then you had the time to position yourself properly and stably even with a tripod or, given the PDR low, however, find a stable support for the camera. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, you can see the blur. To this end it is also useful to use the remote shutter in order to avoid vibration. I hope to be was a little bit of help for you but I also hope that my comments follow those of highly skilled photographers in the genre ;-) Congratulations and look your next test! :-) Salutoni Michela
PS: you can anche might have a look at this article by Juza -> Macro Photography Ciao Gianmarco!
thanks so much for your very detailed analysis, you're absolutely right on the diaphragm, tripod was impossible to place it, maybe it's one of those that allow you to put the camera low to the ground but do not have it. I tell you that the snails pass through the lens, but for me it was like a ferrari, he was always on the move constantly in and out of the fire! :-D
advice received, I hope I remember to apply them the next time
a big thank
