Il cartello diceva:"questa strada non è gestita dal servizio manutenzione del parco, è transitabile, ma non ve lo consigliamo!!" Come potevo resistere?!?!! Sono stati i 45 minuti più lunghi della mia vita... Procediamo lentamente lungo il fianco della morena cercando il percorso più agevole tra le buche e i macigni che occupano la pista. Guido un Land Cruiser, che qui si chiama Prado, color Burgundi (ma quante ne avranno fatte così?!?!? 2...) Accanto a me mia moglie con l'espressione della donna che dieci minuti prima ti ha detto "Fai come vuoi!"... tutti noi maschi sappiamo cosa significa, vero?!?! Sul sedile posteriore i nostri bimbi di 8 e 5 anni... Accompagnano le inclinazioni del mezzo con degli ooohhhh, ooohhhh, che nei primi 5 minuti erano divertenti... adesso.... Procedo lentamente mentre rivoli di sudore cominciano a scorrermi sulla fronte. Dopo 25 minuti di gimcana e scossoni, arriviamo in un tratto dove la pista si allarga e troviamo un altro Prado parcheggiato alla rinfusa... Il Prado è color burgundi... a bordo una moglie... non una donna, una moglie... ha la stessa espressione della mia... non vedo il marito. Quando comincio a pensare che lo abbia ucciso e seppellito alla meno peggio tra le rocce quando eccolo scendere dal fianco della morena. Ci mostra le foto fatte con l'iPad. Decidiamo di salire. Portiamo i bimbi. Follia pura, ma sono inconsapevoli e quindi... Raggiunta la vetta si apre davanti a noi la vista che vedete. Il fronte del Tasman Glacier. Ho rischiato la vita ma ne è valsa la pena...

Having slept little or nothing the next morning and for most of the afternoon I shot at 2000 ISO without realizing ... a disaster! :-|
