Papilio Alexanor? sent on August 21, 2013 (9:42) by Zellereller. 8 comments, 541 views.

, 1/640 f/10.0, ISO 160, hand held. Specie: Iphiclides podalirius

The trigger is not bad, the focus sull'occhi is good,
I would try for my taste with a slight crop has to take up room
above and left (the dark side) to get an image
more on the diagonal therefore more dynamic and to give more prominence
farfalla.È to a purely subjective opinion composition
is always very subjective.
Greetings, Tex.

The image is nice because of the situation, seems to want to play hide and seek.
Regarding the photo would say that over the eye has saved the wing of dx for who observes the rest is blurry. Now the decision is yours.

Hello Pigi47,

Your visits are always very welcome as your suggestions / criticism, it actually lacks sharpness on the whole left side, I have not slept more than 10 of the diaphragm due to the dirt accumulated on the sensor the same day :-(
and now I regret it very definitely had better clean the photos in post, so instead there is nothing more to do, even if camnbiavo angle for the shot that lost hide and seek effect as well have you noticed ;-)

Pigi however if I understand correctly, in this type of picture it is important that both wings are in focus in a shot like that? I'm still so much (too much) of instinct and "first time" (in the sense that it was the first time I saw a butterfly like that) :-|

When the butterflies are active is hard to get everything in focus, a little 'because of your time is short, a little' because they move, a little 'because the wings are usually held on the diagonal, but in this case the parallelism would play in your favor.
A good opportunity to photograph them in business is when you stop on a flower to feed, many times they give you the time to work, while others make you kneel before shooting a moment and leave you with egg on the face to launch so many curses , because in the long run in up and down, the legs begin to hurt you.
