The ant in the first part of his life is a worm that lives hidden in the sand. Dig the hole and waits for prey hidden steps (eg ants). When the victim goes where he is beginning to pull an incredible speed as the grains of sand that stun and disorient prey which is no longer able to move up the hole and is dragged under the sand. This ravenous creature we nicknamed "Harvey" as the white rabbit invisible to the famous James Stewart. It 'very difficult to see and for camouflage, both for their small size and to the habits that lead him to never get out of his hole.
If you care to see the hunting technique look here :)

You gave us a lot with this shot, but especially with the clip supplied.
Learn something new and new players is a sap for this hobby.
The photo is as always well done and very limited, so congratulations to all!

Bravissimi!!

It is not always easy to photograph this tiny being and photos so you do not see many! Very good!

Bellissimo esempio di mimetismo! Il soggetto dev'essere anche molto piccolo. Ottima ripresa e ambientazione.

Beautiful example of mimicry! The subject must also be very small. Excellent recovery and ambience. Really interesting movie. it's funny how the sand lance: Always precise and informative, boys, and very good. Thank you for sharing this very interesting, and congratulations again ;-)

Ciao :)

Thank you and appreciation of the passage.
It 'sa little photogenic subject:-D and therefore not "gettonato"! E ', however, extremely curious and interesting behavior.
The difficulty lies in being able to take before it is hidden under the sand. You really have a few seconds to ;-)

Complimenti! Sorriso
Ciao

Luca

Interesting and not a picture of the subject (the're raising?), Excellent pictures, although I prefer the one that appears last in the video, and very educational video. Congratulations! :-)

Ciao :)

Thanks Luke, photographically speaking the last like the most to us, but we chose this because you see all the insect and is most noticeable mimicry.

congratulations on the photo and cutting-popular teaching that you give to your work

I find that the video is too hard to get the meal, I would have expected more deadly use of the funnel ... :-)
