It is not easy to explain briefly, but to have a sufficient depth of field you have to take multiple images and then combine them in post-production with software like Helicon Focus. Technically taking several photos I fixed the fire and moving the camera from the closest point to the farthest (matter of a few mm) using a micrometer slide. I hope I was clear enough.
