I do not know what the subject but the photo I definitely attracts ... It gives me the impression of being in the woods of Little Red Riding Hood, I do not know why, or rather, I think it is due to the color of the subject but not limited to, selective focus also is really perfect and intriguing! bravo! Roberto. Roberto. |

The rafflesia is the largest flower in the world, but instead of perfume, it gives off a stench that you feel at a great distance! |

Please!! E 'for this reason that the author was wondering explanations sul'odore .... so that is felt at great distances and recalls the rotting flesh in fact, instead of attracting butterflies, attracts flies! However, it should be a sight to see, because if I remember correctly, can be one meter wide! Unfortunately I was not able to see it. Hello Clara Prego!!!! Ciao Clara |

You are right, Clara. Biggest ones are about 1 meter in diameter, 60-80 cm is more common. Funny fact is, it takes about 9 months until the flower fully open and only 3-5 days when it rots away. Becouse it blooms randomly throughtout the year, there is necessary good portion of luck to see any blooming during short 1-2 weeks trip. Lucky enough during my secound Borneo trip I took picture of all three phases (bulb, flower, rotting flower) within one day. This March I arrived two weeks after 5 flowers bloom together, resulting I had no chance see it. Hope for another chance this September again. |
