Nikon D200 Sigma 120-400mm f/9 1/750 iso 200 Lo scatto non è di quelli che suscitano meraviglia per la situazione o la tecnica, ma chi altro conosce o ha incrociato questo parente della iena anche se come secondo nome porta "maanhaar jackal" (sciacallo maanhaar) e che è l'unica specie vivente della sottofamiglia protele? Me lo ha presentato un ricercatore quando lo abbiamo visto spuntare tra l'erba del Namibrand prima che corresse a rifugiarsi nella sua tana. Animale notturno si ciba, al contrario dei suoi imparentamenti, di termiti...

Non è certo facile da vedere soprattutto con il sole! bel colpo!
Il nome scientifico è Proteles cristatus che in africkans chiamano aardwolf che significa lupo di terra.
A me è capitato di vederlo 3/4 volte nel Serengeti ma non sono mai riuscito a fotografarlo perchè stavo guidando, l' ho sepre inocntrato al rientro verso sera e sopprattutto non è per nulla confidente......
