For processing I used photoshop, double exposure used to not have too much trouble with mountains under (240 sec, f2, 8 ISO 500), while for the Milky Way the exposure is 40 sec, f2, 8 ISO 3200 (40 seconds are too many but I tried to do so not to raise too much in the iso when the d300s does not excel at high iso)
