Probabilmente ciò è dovuto al fatto che siamo abituati a vedere gli elefanti in "cattività, nei circhi o nei giardini zoologici, dove le aspettative di vita sono sicuramente inferiori a quelle degli animali che vivono liberi nei parchi: la lunghezza delle zanne è, infatti, proporzionale agli di vita dell'animale (questo "esemplare" doveva essere abbastanza... "vecchio")!
