Volterra (PI) - Il manicomio di Volterra, adesso per la maggior parte dei suoi edifici in disuso e in fase di forte degrado, nel tempo è stato uno dei più grandi centri di cura di salute mentale più grandi di Europa. Posto in una zona limitrofa al centro storico della bellissima cittadina toscana era in realtà una città nella città, dotata di ampia autonomia funzionale.
