La tipula è un insetto della famiglia Tipulidae, simile a una grande zanzara, innocuo per l’uomo ma le cui larve possono danneggiare piante e prati. Descrizione generale La tipula, nota anche come "zanzarone", è un insetto dal corpo allungato, con antenne e zampe molto lunghe che possono staccarsi facilmente per autotomia. Gli adulti sono grandi, sottili, con ali scure e zampe deboli, e non pungono né attaccano l’uomo. Alcune specie si nutrono di nettare, contribuendo all’impollinazione, mentre altre non hanno apparato boccale sviluppato e non si alimentano affatto
