Il Codirossone (Monticola saxatilis), essendo specie migratrice, trascorre l'inverno nell'Africa subsahariana per poi tornare in primavera a nidificare sulle nostre montagne. La sua sgargiante livrea non è di certo mimetica sul candido manto nevoso e trovarlo dopo una fredda perturbazione in alta quota, è stato piuttosto insolito.
