Situato nel cuore dell'Oltrepò Pavese ed immerso tra verdi colline e vigneti condotti a pinot nero, questo castello si erge sulla collina di Montalto Pavese a 450 mt circa s.l.m. Castello cinquecentesco tra i meglio conservati della Regione Lombardia è tutt'ora privata dimora nobiliare e quindi non visitabile. La posizione è suggestiva in quanto gode di una visuale su tutta la sottostante Valle Scuropasso ricchissima di splendidi vigneti. Nei giorni con l'aria tersa è possibile scorgere, alle spalle del castello, l'intera catena delle Alpi, con il Monte Rosa, il Cervino ed il Monviso perfettamente visibili. Proverò sicuramente a scattare di nuovo sperando in una giornata limpida, magari all'alba, perchè lo sfondo con le alpi è davvero suggestivo.
