Hai provato a considerare un taglio diverso?
Intendo in verticale, con il bordo sx alle spalle del fumatore ed il bordo dx subito dopo la vetrina in fondo alla piazza.
In questo modo il fumatore ti ricade sul terzo sinistro e una delle linee dei gradini ti parte proprio dall'angolo inferiore sinistro dello scatto.

In questo modo, a mio avviso, togli anche tutta la parte sinistra e parte destra che sono un po' dispersivi, porti il fumatore in primo piano e le linee dei gradini danno maggiore tridimensionalità ;-)
