Strage alla stazione di Bologna Alle 10.25 di sabato 2 agosto 1980, un ordigno ad altissimo potenziale esplose nella sala d'aspetto di seconda classe della stazione ferroviaria di Bologna. L'esplosione provocò il crollo della struttura sovrastante le sale d'aspetto e di trenta metri della pensilina. Investì anche due vetture di un treno in sosta al primo binario. Le conseguenze dell'esplosione furono di terrificante gravità anche a causa dell'affollamento della stazione in un giorno prefestivo di agosto. Rimasero uccise ottantacinque persone; oltre duecento furono ferite. La città si trasformò in una gigantesca macchina di soccorso e assistenza. Il Presidente della Repubblica Sandro Pertini, giunto nel pomeriggio a Bologna, affermò: «Siamo di fronte alla impresa più criminale che sia avvenuta in Italia, al più grave attentato dell'Italia repubblicana».
