Sono un frequentatore assiduo del Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso e dei suoi sentieri. Il gipeto ormai (con ben 5 coppie nidificanti nelle diverse vallate del Parco, più vari giovani esemplari che gironzolano liberamente) è un incontro praticamente certo: se si va a camminare lungo determinati sentieri è quasi impossibile non vederlo. Spesso, però, la macchina foto non a portata di mano o le enormi distanze a cui lo si avvista, non rendono facile tirare fuori buoni scatti, neppure se si va ad appostarsi nei punti migliori e aspettando ore. Oggi, però, dopo decine di avvistamenti e centinaia di scatti a soggetti lontanissimi o in pessima luce, sono finalmente riuscito a fotografarne uno in modo soddisfacente. Questo è il maschio della coppia nidificante in Valle Orco. Un incontro ravvicinato e bellissimo.
