Più seriamente e ricollegandomi a Triora, sia per le efferatezze commesse dagli Inquisitori che per la scarsissima popolazione all'epoca, quel paese fu un esempio di persecuzione genocida, anzi muliericida. La letteratura è vasta, qui un breve riassunto:
