New York, 2 luglio 2019. L'ultima occasione che ho avuto per fotografare la Grande Mela da un punto di vista privilegiato. Il Top of The Rock, situato sul Rockefeller Center. Nei giorni precedenti avevo già visitato l'Empire State Building e la Freedom Tower, fotografando la città al crepuscolo dai loro Osservatori. Ma questo, secondo me è il miglior punto di ripresa di tutti. Sono arrivato alle 16.00, quando sul terrazzo sommitale c'erano al massimo 50 persone. Inizialmente il programma era di fare qualche foto e scendere subito per andare a visitare Time Square al tramonto. Poi mi sono reso conto che non avrei potuto perdermi il crepuscolo con questa vista. Ho cercato subito la postazione ideale prevedendo l'aumento di visitatori verso sera. Ci sono rimasto aggrappato con le unghie fino alle 21,30, quando dietro di me avevo tre file di turisti assatanati pronti a tutto pur di affacciarsi sul parapetto e scattare una foto. Ad occhio c'erano 500 persone. Più quelle al piano di sotto, inquadrato in basso. La foto è un HDRI composto da 5 scatti eseguiti con Sony A7RIII e Sigma 14 mm Art f/1.8
