LDN 1251 - The Rotten Fish Nebula LDN (Lynds Dark Nebula)1251, nota anche col nome di nebulosa del Pesce marcio è una nebulosa oscura sita a circa 1000 anni luce di distanza nella costellazione del Cefeo. Questa è una zona di formazione stellare ed in foto si notano chiari segni di HHO di color rosso_magenta . Gli oggetti Herbig–Haro (HH) sono chiazze luminose di nebulosità associate a stelle appena nate. Si formano quando stretti getti di gas parzialmente ionizzato espulsi dalle stelle si scontrano con nuvole vicine di gas e polvere a diverse centinaia di chilometri al secondo. Gli oggetti Herbig–Haro si trovano comunemente nelle regioni di formazione stellare, e diversi sono spesso osservati attorno a una singola stella, allineati con il suo asse di rotazione.
