Di ritorno dalla Terra del Fuoco in direzione Punta Arenas, ancora tutto accerchiato dai colori dalla notte (era una mattina di inizio luglio con un gelo incredibile, nonostante dalla foto non si intuisca) guardavo dritto davanti a me; ad un certo punto una svolta secca e la strada continua e quando per caso mi giro a guardare fuori dal finestrino vedo un bagliore rossastro che si rifletteva sulle acque calme dello Stretto di Magellano. "E' l'ultima alba del viaggio" e quindi con un minimo di speranza abbandono la macchina al bordo della strada e mi lancio verso il litorale a poche decine di metri... Oltre ad essere stata una buona idea, penso sia stata anche una delle migliori albe che mi ricordi, completamente da solo in una desolata Patagonia meridionale dipinta di rosso!
