Posata come un regina nel suo trono di lichene, questa superba femmina di Trogone Mascherato si fonde quasi con l'ambiente. La sua posa elegante e i suoi colori intensi, in particolare il rosso acceso del petto e il bruno-ruggine, contrastano alla perfezione con i licheni dorati e i verdi saturi della foresta andina che fungono da sfondo ideale per esaltare ogni singola sfumatura di questo magnifico trogone. Uno degli incontri più memorabili che ho avuto con gli uccelli della Colombia. Un trionfo di colore catturato in un momento di pura magia! Niente capanno, niente posatoio preparato, niente esche vive, solo dedizione, ricerca e tanta fatica. Caldas, Colombia, Agosto 2025.
