La scultura raffigura un Naga, un essere divino a forma di serpente che nella mitologia induista e buddista simboleggia la protezione e il passaggio tra i mondi. I Naga sono un elemento architettonico comune nei templi di Angkor, dove spesso fiancheggiano i ponti e le passerelle, fungendo da guardiani. Le porte sono fiancheggiate da file di statue di divinità e demoni che raffigurano la "zangolatura dell'oceano di latte", un mito induista. Il tempio, delimitato da un canale perimetrale fu realizzato con ben quattro muri di cinta.
