Quasi al termine della nostra giornata si soffermiamo presso il “Viaducto de la Polverilla”. Questo viadotto faceva parte della linea ferroviaria per il trasporto dello zolfo estratto dalle miniere della Puna Argentina, verso la città cilena di Antofogasta e realizzata negli anni trenta del secolo scorso. Successivamente, alla chiusura delle miniere , fu completamente abbandonata.. Negli anni ottanta ne fu ripristinato un tratto per adibirlo ad attrazione turistica. Adesso infatti viene usata per il passaggio del noto “ Tren a las Nubes” conosciuto anche in italiano come Treno alle Nuvole. E' uno dei percorsi ferroviari più alti del mondo: arriva infatti a toccate i 4.200 metri sul livello del mare . Parte dalla minuscola località di San Antonio de los Cobres e arriva all' emozionante Viaducto la Polvorilla e durante il suo percorso attraversa i fantastici panorami delle Ande Argentine dove protagoniste assolute sono le montagne multicolore.
