È la notte di luna nuova del mese di agosto, pochi cieli sono bui come quello della Namibia questa notte. Nel Parco Nazionale dell'Etosha un rinoceronte si avvicina alla pozza vicino al nostro campeggio per abbeverarsi. Nonostante l'enorme mole, l'animale si avvicina senza far alcun rumore, nessun suono turba l'aria immobile, il silenzio regna sovrano. Senza fretta, l'animale si avvicina alla pozza e si abbevera, mentre la natura osserva quieta e attenta. Ad occhio nudo la Via Lattea si svela in tutta la sua maestosità, un fiume di stelle che sovrasta la pozza come un antico sentiero celeste. Hi Gianluca, as you can imagine the shot for the rhinoceros is different from those in the sky. I shot at very high ISO at 2 seconds (incredibly it stayed still) and then it reduced the noise a lot in post production. I must say that even on PC the result is very good. Then I combined the terrestrial with the stacking of ten photos of the sky taken shortly after.
