Un piccolo tempio, classificato dalle guide tra i meno interessanti ma incastonato in un paesaggio da favola. Per arrivarci si deve attraversare una passerella che taglia un bacino d'acqua praticamente immobile e molto suggestivo, con un paesaggio attorno unico, nelle acque i fiori di loto fanno da attrazione per i visitatori ed al centro spiccano tronchi di alberi fossilizzatiil tutto prima di fare ingresso al tempio nell'isola.Perfetto per gli appassionati di foto. Neak Pean è uno dei templi più affascinanti del Parco Archeologico di Angkor, a differenza delle grandi strutture come Angkor Wat o Bayon, questo tempio è piccolo ma incredibilmente unico. Costruito dal re Jayavarman VII, fu progettato come un antico ospedale e centro di guarigione, incentrato su un tranquillo stagno che si ritiene abbia proprietà medicinali.
