Identificazione: si tratta di una pianta erbacea annuale, alta fino a 120 cm. Il fusto è ascendente ramoso, un po' traslucido e spesso arrossato alla base. Le foglie sono ovato-lanceolate, alterne, con margine dentato e apice acuminato. Il picciolo, lungo 1-2 cm, è alato e senza ghiandole. Le infiorescenze sono formate da 3-8 fiori rosa porpora nella parte inferiore e bianchi in quella superiore; lo sperone è diritto o leggermente ricurvo, lungo 12-18 mm. Il frutto è costituito da una capsula priva di peli (glabra) che una volta matura, esplode al minimo urto, come nelle altre Impatiens, lanciando numerosi semi.
