Con esse costituiva secondo ogni probabilità un'unica proprietà, la corte regia che nel 910 l'imperatore Berengario conferma al visconte Gariardo. sono cresciute costruzioni di pretto disegno ossolano e montecrestesano ad uso di abitazione o cascina. Sulle porte e finestre sono spesso incise croci di ogni tipo, semplici e potenziate e perfino nella forma di svastica. Alla impressionante robustezza delle spesse murature in sasso vivo si accompagnano gli aerei solai ad "astrigo" aperti verso il sole, scale a rampa, ad arcoponte e ad arcorampante, con ardite soluzioni tutte realizzate mediante la pietra locale.
