è un'enorme nebulosa ad emissione molto debole, situata nella parte meridionale della costellazione del Cefeo. Si trova ad una distanza di circa 10.400 anni luce, all'interno del braccio di Perseo. Le stelle responsabili della ionizzazione del gas sono molto calde e massicce; in particolare, sono state identificate due stelle Wolf-Rayet, chiamate HD 211564 e HD 211853, nonché una stella di classe spettrale e una dozzina di stelle di classe B. Intorno alla stella di tipo O e a una delle stelle di Wolf-Rayet cresce una bolla ben visibile nella banda delle onde radio, chiamata Shell B, probabilmente originata dal vento stellare delle due stelle massicce.
