Partire per un'escursione in compagnia di un fotografo naturalista non è mai una scelta da prendere alla leggera. Il fotografo naturalista ha tempi tutti suoi. Non sono quelli del runner, né dell'escursionista, né tantomeno quelli di una famiglia in gita. Sono, piuttosto, un ibrido imprevedibile di tutti questi ritmi, scanditi da una regola interiore che solo lui conosce. Mi è capitato di correre a perdifiato per catturare un tramonto, di perdere ore fermo a fotografare un fiore, o di camminare a lungo inseguendo il richiamo di un angolo di mondo che mi aveva attratto.
