Per lui è stato un atto di istinto, il compimento naturale di un percorso iniziato alla nascita. Per me, invece, è stato un'emozione travolgente. Tremavo, il cuore mi batteva forte, e mi sono quasi commosso come raramente mi capita. È difficile spiegare a parole cosa significhi per un fotografo naturalista vivere un'esperienza simile: è un privilegio raro, una di quelle occasioni che non capitano ogni anno ma ti fanno capire quanto il tuo lavoro, le tue attese infinite, le tue albe passate in silenzio, abbiano davvero un senso. Adesso i cieli hanno un nuovo re... Ali nere con sfumature d'orate che si stagliano contro l'azzurro.. Oggi posso dire con orgoglio che la riproduzione del capovaccaio in Sicilia è riuscita. Non è solo un traguardo personale, ma una notizia di valore nazionale, un segno tangibile di speranza per il proseguo di questa specie tanto fragile quanto preziosa. Dietro a questo risultato ci sono ore e ore di sacrifici, passione e dedizione, ogni attesa, ogni sguardo rivolto al cielo, oggi trova finalmente la sua ragione. C'è poco da aggiungere: l'emozione è tanta, e la voglia di continuare cresce ogni giorno che passa.
