Nice image but fallacious caption. Estimated distance 2.5 million light years. A galaxy of the first magnitude belonging to the Local Group (the Milky Way is the second largest in size) and currently already in partial interaction with ours. Compared to the geological era of the earth, it is a trifle. The genus homo had long since descended from the plant. Clarification made in order to avoid the disclosure of inaccuracies that could mislead anyone who is unfamiliar with astronomy.
