" Il Maestro della Ghironda " Ho sempre subito il fascino della Ghironda. Sarà per quella forma dai volumi insoliti, le ricche decorazioni e gli intagli che vi trovano spazio e la magnifica manovella dal cui movimento si genera il suono. Così mi sono inventato un modo per raggiungere la bottega di questo autentico maestro, posta ai piedi delle Prealpi Biellesi. Delle ghironde prodotte negli ultimi 40 anni in Italia, un mercato chiaramente di nicchia, potete scommettere che molte siano uscite dalla sua mente e dalle sue mani. Sottile e alto come un giunco, lavora in un antico convento da cui ha ricavato anche la sua casa. Ha ristrutturato tutto in solitudine e con pochissimi denari, grazie alle abilità acquisite in lunghi anni di lavoro. Mi ha accolto con generosità, come si addice a chi ha familiarità nell'arte dell'incontro, che forse è davvero la più fondamentale della vita. Parliamo della sua storia di uomo, delle scelte di libertà che lo hanno sempre guidato alla ricerca di un'esistenza semplice e autentica. Dissacratore e serafico, ma anche colto e sensibile, ha saputo regalarmi mille espressioni da quel volto d'altri tempi. La Ghironda, strumento di origine umile, ha accompagnato migranti e vagabondi per le strade del mondo, oltre a consentire ai contadini del nord ovest di racimolare qualche soldo lontano da casa prima che venisse il tempo del raccolto. Forse mi è simpatica proprio per questo suo essere rimasta fuori dal circuito dei conservatori e della musica accademica, custodendo tra le fibre dei legni che la compongono uno spirito poeticamente vagabondo. ____________________
