, 1/50 f/11.0, ISO 200, tripod. Specie: Melanargia galathea

Bravo for the desire to bring home this shot.
The butterfly is generally photographed quite well apart from two small oversights that a photographer like you would not have had to make. The mouthparts lose a hair of incisiveness because they are not perfectly parallel to the focal plane, the perch should not be cut.

Thank you Gigi, Andrea and Pier!

You are absolutely right and it was my intention to do a stacking but I completely missed the sequence and in the end I saved only the single shot I had taken beforehand.
the perch should not have been cut
In this case it was a choice to give greater prominence to the butterfly but I understand your observation well.

Just to liven up the exchange of opinions:
The flower could have been "saved" by cloning the lower part, practically shrinking,
the mouthparts, it's not so bad, with a little contrast it would have been corrected, and the whole image would have benefited.
That you are a good photographer no one doubts :-) !

Remarkable technique even if the shot is the usual Butterfly Shot like thousands of others.

Thank you Giovanni! On the fact that this is
the usual Butterfly Shot like thousands of others..
I can only agree with you: in macro photography you try to capture the beauty of the microworld without necessarily wanting to find deeper meanings. Instead, from a technical point of view, unfortunately the image is far from perfect but in the end it still saw the light because I had never taken this subject before.

Good shooting I would say, think, every now and then, I load the photographic backpack, get on the e-mtb and after about twenty kilometers I enter an area forbidden to cars and enjoy it in peace at 400 meters above sea level

Thank you Gio'! However, in the case in question I was also armed with a photographic backpack when I left but, being still very close to home, I returned to take everything I needed for the macro: optics, micrometric shoe, tripod, LED illuminator...

Just for... I'm trying without a sled on Eugenio Sollima's instructions. Only with the MaF of the optics (450 gr less to carry around) and the results can be seen on my latest photos of the series "the invisibles. With a little practice the results arrive
Ciao
