Oggi un meraviglioso incontro , il simpaticissimo “ Scoiattolo Rosso “ (Sciurus vulgaris) Tra le ombre tremolanti della radura, sotto gli alti alberi della foresta, un scoiattolo vivacissimo guizza come una saetta. Il suo pelo è morbido e fulvo, con una coda vaporosa che si agita come un pennello impazzito mentre balza da un cespuglio all'altro. I suoi occhietti neri brillano di curiosità e furbizia: osserva ogni movimento con attenzione, pronto a sparire al minimo fruscio.Si muove velocissimo e furtivo, come se fosse fatto d'aria: corre sul terreno scricchiolante coperto di foglie secche senza fare rumore, si arrampica sul tronco con artigli affilati, e poi si ferma immobile per annusare l'aria, le orecchie dritte e attente. Quando scorge una ghianda, la afferra e la rigira tra le zampette, ghignando quasi soddisfatto prima di scomparire di nuovo tra le felci.Chiunque passi di lì lo vede solo per un attimo: un lampo rossastro tra i rami, un fruscio tra le foglie, un piccolo ladro di tesori del bosco che si gode la sua libertà nell'infinita avventura della foresta.
