La Riserva Naturale NamibRand è una riserva naturale privata senza scopo di lucro, fondata all'inizio degli anni '80 dal filantropo e fondatore di Wolwedans , Albi Brückner, nei primi anni '80 . Tutti i proprietari terrieri appartenenti alla Riserva hanno firmato accordi e adottato una costituzione che destinano il territorio alla conservazione, ora e in futuro. La Riserva è finanziariamente autosufficiente, principalmente grazie a un turismo di alta qualità e a basso impatto ambientale.
