Un treno per visitare il Salento “coast to coast”. A dispetto, del suo nome, il Salento Express non è velocissimo, ma quando ci sarete saliti sopra non avrete alcuna fretta di arrivare. Come tutte le cose geniali, l'idea è semplice: sfruttare una linea ferroviaria che collega il Mar Ionio e il Mar Adriatico, partendo da Gallipoli per arrivare a Otranto, un viaggio che è un tuffo nella bellezza di mari e di terre, di città e contrade. L'iniziativa è dell'associazione “Rotaie di Puglia” e del Castello di Gallipoli, che si sono impegnati per rimettere in funzione una linea che era caduta in disuso negli anni '80 e i numeri hanno immediatamente dato ragione agli organizzatori, che sono stati letteralmente sommersi dalle prenotazioni. Il tragitto, partendo da Gallipoli , tocca i Comuni di Alezio, Sannicola, Nardò, Galatina, Zollino, Corigliano e Maglie, per giungere a destinazione a Otranto: 90 minuti di percorso in un profluvio di panorami fatti di natura, arte, storia e cultura, che vi inebrieranno la vista.
