Grazie Salvo, mi fa piacere che tu abbia apprezzato questa foto che, per me, prescindendo dal valore fotografico che ovviamente non sta a me valutare, ha un grande significato, come spiegato chiaramente nella didascalia.

Ciao Koda, l'unica cosa da "salvare" qui sarebbe appunto la citazione a Livingstone...
Poichè la foto, ahimè, tecnicamente è sbagliata.
La composizione è sbilanciata a destra: avrei visto molto meglio più spazio da quel lato, dove volge lo sguardo del gabbiano, ma è anche vero che potrebbe essere una questione personale...
La foto è stata scattata in controluce: anche se hai ben gestito le ombre, il fatto che tutto il gabbiano sia in ombra mi lascia un pochino perplesso.
Se poi aggiungiamo il taglio dell'ala ("quasi" imperdonabile) ed il fatto che si tratta di una specie comunissima, ti direi di valutare attentamente se tenere questa o riprovarci....
Io avrei pochi dubbi

As the photo, alas, is technically wrong.
The composition is skewed to the right: I've seen much better more space on that side, where he turns his gaze Seagull, but it is also true that it could be a personal matter ...
The photo was taken by transmitted light: even if you have well-managed shadows, the fact that all the seagull both in shade leaves me a bit puzzled.
If we add the cut Wing ("almost" unforgivable) and the fact that it is a very common species, I would tell you to consider carefully whether to keep this or try again ....

Non sono in grado di darti un giudizio tecnico approfondito su questo scatto perchè certo l'ambito fotografico di riferimento, l'avifauna, a me è pressochè sconosciuto ma capisco la tua emozione nello scattare e anche se la foto non è perfetta, IMHO, mi pare comunque un buon inizio.

I am not able to give you a thorough technical evaluation of this shot because some of the photographic field reference, the birdlife, is almost unknown to me but I understand your emotion in the shoot and even if the photo is not perfect, IMHO, I Apparently still a good start.

Hai colto nel segno Ivan ! Mi sono trovato a stabilire all'improvviso un contatto ravvicinato con il gabbiano della foto ed ho tentato di trasferire emotivamente in un lampo ,in questo scatto, le mie sensazioni, obiettivamente non so se ci sono riuscito, realisticamente quando si cerca di realizzare una foto "al volo" ci sono delle sbavature e delle imperfezioni, d'altronde quanti fotografi più bravi, capaci e blasonati di me hanno fatto delle foto quanto meno perfettibili che però sono rimaste nella storia della fotografia, questa mia foto non rimarrà certamente negli annali di nessun forum ma di sicuro a livello emotivo la porterò dentro il mio cuore. You have hit the mark Ivan! I found myself suddenly establish close contact with seagull photo and tried to emotionally move in a flash, in this shot, my feelings, objectively I do not know if I have succeeded, realistically when trying to take a picture "on the fly" there are burrs and imperfections, for that matter how many photographers the most talented, capable and renowned for me took pictures at least perfectible but remained in the history of photography, this is not my photo will certainly remain in the annals of no forum but certainly on an emotional level will take it in my heart.
