E' uno dei pochissimi Maestri d'ascia ancora attivi nel medio Adriatico. Ha molti più anni di quanto appaia e un'esistenza densa di lavoro e passioni. Vissuto ai piedi del Monte Conero, qui si trova anche il suo piccolo cantiere, addossato al porto dai cui bastioni il mare grosso di primavera spruzza alte bocche di schiuma. Mi racconta come nel tempo Numana sia stata stravolta dal turismo di massa. Il paese della sua infanzia, quello in cui le famiglie erano solite pescare con la "Sciabiga" dalla spiaggia, è oggi spopolato dei suoi abitanti originari. Il boom ha fatto sì che le abitazioni venissero sfruttate fino all'osso a fini turistici, sino al punto che per i giovani è divenuto impossibile sostenere l'acquisto di una casa e, di generazione in generazione, sono ripiegati verso l'interno. L'identità della comunità si è così sbiadita e queste spiagge, ormai da decenni, sono divenute territorio di conquista di turisti in cerca di evasione e divertimento. Eppure lui ha saputo conservare le suggestioni del territorio a cui è profondamente legato, tanto da averle ricostruite in un curioso libro pubblicato appena poco tempo fa. Me lo mostra con l'orgoglio di chi è stato capace di migliorarsi giorno dopo giorno attraverso la propria curiosità e non certo grazie al percorso scolastico. Anzi, a denti stretti, rievoca il ricordo di una maestra borghese e classista che, nei lontani anni 50, gli ripeteva compiaciuta: "Aldino tu devi tornare a fare le barchette con il tuo babbo". Non tanto con l'intento di umiliare lui, quanto suo padre, artigiano e noto militante comunista della zona. Mentre ascolto le sue parole e lo osservo, i suoi tratti somatici non smettono di ricordarmi Gengis Khan .... Da questa piccola spiaggia, affacciata su acque che volgono al grande e remoto Est, mi interrogo su quale inestricabile mistero si celi dietro il lento depositarsi della genetica di noi esseri umani. _________________________________ Numana (AN);
