Dopo 8 anni di amicizia incontro per la prima volta Gaia Trecarichi in Sicilia. Entrambi siciliani, lei di Palermo, io della provincia limitrofa. entrambi emigrati a Trento dove ci siamo conosciuti per caso, o forse perchè proprio lei ha lasciato in giro tracce che hanno reso inevitabile che ci incontrassimo ideando CusCus Trento, un progetto che ha avuto il cibo quale tessuto connettivo, che ha unito popoli e persone e ha finito per unire anche noi. Fatto sta che mai eravamo riusciti ad incontrarci in Sicilia, scegliendo spesso periodi diversi per "scendere giù", come usiamo dire. Sino alle scorso 1 maggio. Entrambi siamo "a casa" da qualche giorno e mi invita a passare quel giorno di festa insieme alla sua storica compagnia di amici. Passiamo una splendida giornata presso le Gole di Tiberio, sito Unesco dell'entroterra pazzesco che mette in mostra le unicità anche geologiche dell'isola. La giornata è meravigliosa, il cielo limpido e terso. Al ritorno ci fermiamo presso una casa nei pressi di Buonfornello, lì vicino, a pochi metri c'è il mare tra dune di sabbia fine. Il sole sta scendendo all'orizzonte. Ci fermiamo ad ammirarlo. Decido di tentare qualche scatto, mi allontano qualche metro e noto l'ombra di una lunga amicizia di fronte ad un tramonto che dipinge di rosso fuoco l'orizzonte in attesa del blu che rapidamente sembra calare dall'alto per intavolare il cielo stellato
