A singular shot that unfortunately does not explain the event filmed on its own. Very interesting. :-or
Greetings

The egg seems to have egg white, probably it was broken during hatching and stuck to the feathers of the female who unknowingly carried it in flight. and lose it (for me this could be the cause)

Very particular photo, the object below is spherical enough to make me think that it is not an egg, (but everything can be) the whole seems wet too, that it has detached from the plumage and more likely that from behind (too forward) however mine are also only ipotesi.la particularity of the shot makes it unique, congratulations you managed to capture the interest (at least my sure) very nice photo.

Being in the line of air under the female's chest, it is too far forward to be a more or less voluntary release, even considering the forward movement due to kinetic energy. Since there seems to have been yolk and egg white coming out of the lower part, I am also inclined to believe that it may have broken in the brood and stuck to the plumage.
What is certain is that you have taken a very special and interesting shot!
Congratulations on the singular catch!
